The staff of BASIS Tucson North are unionizing to uphold the dignity of teachers and staff, fight corporate profiteering, defend our rights as workers, end unjust labor practices, and advocate for our students’ needs.

Before

Before teachers came together to unionize:

5 total days of PTO
0 compensation for subbing duties
Attendance bonus system that forced teachers to choose between their health and additional compensation

After

Together, AZ-ACTS has won for all BASIS schools:

10 total days of PTO
$40/hr stipend for subbing duties assigned in addition to a full teaching schedule
Removal of the punitive attendance bonus system
